Me and some buddies are heading to the breaks to chase mule deer. We will be hunting from a jet boat and was just looking for any advice from people who have done it previously?

Be careful where you camp. Find places that have vegetation/grass and don't just look like sandy flats. One little rain or snow and that clay becomes snot slick mud that sticks to everything. Really watch having a campfire. That is dry country in a good year by the time hunting season rolls around the vegetation is dry. A breeze can move embers a long way. Take bug dope. Take fishing gear. Try to camp/park the boat on the inside of a bend. Not as much crap will hit your boat as it floats downriver.

It's straightforward spot and stalk hunting. Lots of hike to high point, and glass. No real trick to it.

Do a search for the breaks on here. Lots of good info already out there in the deer, elk and sheep sections.

Thank for the info Jeremy. I’ve heard about the gumbo if it rains but didn’t think about parking in a bend to avoid debris floating down river. We plan on getting to some vantage points before sunrise to glass for a while in hopes of spotting a nice mule deer.
