DIY Kansas Hunt season pressure Muzzy/Archery Rut

So reviving this because I actually put in for it this year. Next year I’ll be able to draw whatever zone in Iowa. I elected for unit 15 & 16 and will be public land hunting. I think I’m going to stay around the Pratt area and just grab an air bnb as most of the less pricey cabins are already booked. I probably should have put in for 14 as my adjacent because there truly isn’t much public in 16 at all. What forced my hand was the genetics in 15 & 16 and the higher pressure from hunters in 14 but I doubt any of it will matter. It looks like I’ll be lucky to even find a tree to hunt out of so I’m taking a very mobile stand & a small pop up ground blind (just covers the front of ya). I put in for archery but I’ll likely be using an x bow (I know, I know) because I destroyed my tendon in my elbow ironically dragging 2 deer last November then falling off the top of a ladder at work (think it’s golfers elbow or tennis elbow but idk, no insurance when you own your own business). Any pointers from anyone that’s been there? Full moon is 10/26 I believe so I’ll be headed down shortly after that or Nov 1st and stay for 10-14 days hopefully. Not sure if I’m flying or driving yet (I’d rather drive but it’s a 22 hour hike)

I thought it was understood to not name units and specific areas on this site??
I hope you keep it to yourself if you’re successful so we don’t have to add TonySkyline to the blame list for overcrowding.

Don’t get your whitey tighties in a bunch, hahahahaha. Who said a specific area? These units are quite large, nobody is asking for specifics here or where exactly to hunt and even if someone did there is high chance someone else would already be there which is my last point. It’s mostly open prairie land with a small stream/hedge row or drainage. You are hating on the wrong people with that take. If you are mad because of overcrowding look at the YouTubers you worship, not someone asking for advice on a forum because it’s their first time to Kansas

Following, because now I'm interested in Units 15, 16 and maybe 14, but not so much in the crossbow drama.

You mentioned your units and that you’re staying in Pratt. As much as you like to ramble in your posts about all your research, multiple injuries, your business, insurance, area genetics, where all the hunting pressure should and shouldn’t be, etc, I’m sure if you go shoot a good buck you’ll just have to post about it.
Then thanks to you condensing all your countless hours of research into a couple pages on a forum, guys can take all that right to the Pratt area.
I never accused you of asking for specifics of where to hunt. You willingly posted all that information yourself. I asked that since you felt the need to do it, that if successful you keep it to yourself.
Don’t be scared, you’re a big boy. Just go hunt. You don’t need the internet to hold your hand. I hope you have a great hunt and go on quietly about your business so you can go back and do it again without any more company.

Bro I don’t want the company. People saying how awful and overloaded it is with people is the reason I have 7 points in Kansas and have held off so long. Every time since 2020 you research Kansas public it’s all you see. Overcrowded, no access, chit hunting because of YouTube hunters blasting how great it is (was). I see you are right next door so maybe you get to hunt it more often than someone like me that has to spend thousands to do so. Don’t be a dick about it, I don’t get the hate, but good for you if you got a good spot and don’t want it blasted, I understand that

I will say, you are making me feel like I’m on the track though, lol. Thank you for confidence boost. I needed it.

Rifle season is awful. Muzzleloader and archery it must depend on the area. But since I got private to hunt now I don't have an issue usually unless it's (mostly) out of staters trying to get on my stuff.
