I forgot how much time I wouldn’t have with a 8 week old baby haha. I’m finally starting to put some oil on it. @longrangelead caused me more work I had to cut in a mini acra rail.

Haha no, I’m just busy with a baby and 2 year old. I’ll work on it 30 minutes here and there when I’m lucky

Finally done with the finish. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. The stock with the hardware weighted in at 37 oz.

I was happy with my first attempt but knew I could do better. Still not all the way stoked on round two but i definitely improved over the first try. This one’s walnut, finished at 28.4 oz

The winds are sustained 20-25mph with some nasty gusts thrown in to, tad wiggly. But overall the stock feels awesome. The grip feels like your shakin hands with an ol buddy. The finger groove on the buttstock is awesome for the support hand.
I’ll have to get to know her better before I start to figure out what I don’t like.

What did you use for wood maple? If you said I missed it. Great looking stock.

It is some figured maple. Three pieces laminated together for strength. I really need to get out and shoot it. Also probably stress test the strength of the stock. Thank you!
