Primary purpose for this is saddle/treestand hunting. I have run a small cheap fanny pack for a couple of years that did the same thing but decided having it on my chest would be more convenient. Also allowed me to build in features i wanted. This is pretty similar to a marsupial Joey pack. Most of the time I am climbing with a treehopper drill and bolts. This holds that and my saw and nippers with room to spare. I put leather pouches on the back so once I'm at my desired tree, I can take saw and nippers out of pack and put them on the rear of the pack to be out of the way and easily accessible for repeated in and out use. Went with leather for those slots for long term durability, but it is also silent.

The camo is from a vintage pair of pants I've held onto forever. It's not very durable so I laminated it with 500d.

Has loops on bottom to accept a marsupial style holster.

Front zipper pocket will hold cell phone. Vertically it sticks out enough to be easy to grab out quickly to reference on x. Horizontally it fits fully without issue.

Will also make a great fishing pack for me.

Great work! I’m always interested to see what you do! I love chest rigs now that I have one. I made one last year or so kind of on a whim. I use it pretty often. I made a little call sleeve that attaches to front molle. It’s like the old CD sleeves on your visor but scaled down to hold 3 diaphragm calls vertically. It’s hard for me to go back to my Fanny packs now thoughA75339A2-D919-4A5F-9143-BA4BE0536981.jpeg

That looks great man! You put a lot of features into that. I'm real bad about getting bogged down in the planning phase, so I have to just say screw it and jump into construction. That can definitely mean that I leave out potential features. As I use this one I will probably think of things I wish it had. But there is always the next generation of a build.

That's too easy, I think I'm going to give it a try! How is it working out durability wise?

Nice work! Aside from the obvious quality of your stitching and overall design layout, that old duck-hunter camo you used is beyond cool!

I love the design I made something similar with out the zipper. I wish I added the zipper but that’s a winter project I need to do

That’s a good idea for treestand work.
