Hello all, I figure this is a good place to expand my research on my big moose hunting trip this Oct. I have a DIY moose hunt in northern BC, and was just wondering from the few that have done DIY moose hunts if there is any advice or things that really helped them out on their trip to make it successful.
I am also putting together my list of equipment and supplies that I will need here very shortly, and if there is anything that you thought was missed on your trip that is a must, that would be much appreciated.
Cheers Moe.

Moe,
Shoot me a PM with the zone, and we can chat. Different areas bring different issues.

Hang your moose meat high. We have had bears in our meat poles ever year and now hang our meat 20' plus off the ground using an MA to get it up.

And thats some good advice, we do have grizzlies around and tonnes of blackies. I imagine the wolves will be out there as well, as they have been causing problems.

Not trying to rub it in at all, just trying to gather some info as my friend and i got the same draw.

There is lots of opportunities up this way in bc, yukon, alaska for moose and sheep/goat. Might be worth the trip for you, almost anything you want in NA can be found up here.

The point is Moe that what we hunt GOS on OTC or LEH tags these guys pay huge dollars for what is often a once in a lifetime hunt for them.
Remember, non-residents need guides...we truly are lucky guys to live and hunt where we do.
Never take it for granted.

So true there!!!! The fact that in one calendar year I'll chase Grizz, Blackies, Bighorns, Stones, Mtn Goats, Elk, Deer and wolves is a pretty darn good example of that endless opportunities for us residents!

Yes this is very true, thats why i would have a hard time leaving bc. Got offered jobs elsewhere that i would make more money but had to say no.
I have a list that is about ready to post up here to see if their is any comments/ suggestions.
