Love throwing wogs for silvers, also don’t be surprised to catch silvers while beading for trout and char. Kinda scary to hook a silver on a four or five Wt. in fast water.
we left Alaska when I was a kid because dad had been recruited to head up a division of the then new EPA. He hammered out his doctorate in record time at Oregon state and became the Director of Marine and Fresh Water Ecology for the EPA. Organized the state and federal scientists to determine if transplants would work to clean up the ailwife problem in Lake Michigan. Wrote the final approval for the EPA. He recently passed away but loved meeting and talking to people who had fished for salmon and steelhead on the lakes as it was one of his favorite projects.
