The Pocket Fisherman Spin Casting Outfit, circa 1972.

You know you are over the hill if you remember these television ads from the mid-1970s.

I never owned one but I probably saw them advertised about 500 times. Old school…
Several years back a buddy and I found a pair of these at a garage sale still in the box. We smashed stocker rainbow trout with them off of the neighborhood dock. Was only able to cast about 4 feet, maybe 5 feet if you had a stiff tail wind. Now I have no idea where they ended up...

I bought a pair of Sorel boots before my first winter in Fairbanks, AK in 1994. I believe they were rated for -25 or something. They were very warm but my feet still got cold up there.
You can still find the original sorels on eBay a lot. I have bought several pairs off there and still have them. They def don't make them like that anymore.

The kifaru one once wonder. It’s still my favourite meat bag but I always stress it’s going to be damaged or fail.
I should have bought a half dozen of them. This one’s been going strong for about ten years. It’s beside my backpack in the pic
