Built AR’s are fun, but they are just that, a range toy in my opinion.

Tell that to the folks in the Armed Forces.....
People in the Armed Forces use FACTORY built Colt and Fn AR patterned rifles. A blueprinted, spec’d out AR designed by an engineer is not the same as what Joe Dirt did in his barn.

I am looking at the di ic flat dark earth
LWRC is one of the best in my opinion when it comes to customer service and quality. You would be hard pressed to find another maker at the level they are at. The only downside to them is the price, but you do really get what you pay for. I was at the edge of a hill/small canyon deal at the desert range i shoot at and like an idiot, thought i had it sling’ed to my body so i let it go and it fell maybe 14-ish feet and must have landed right on the barrel as it tumbled down another 20-ish feet. Barrel was crooked like crazy. Sent them and email, they asked me to ship it to them on their dime. Fixed it up like new at no cost.

Depends on how they are built and the factory guns you are talking about. LMT, Colt, BCM or the high end custom makers sure. Personally I would not bet my life or the life of a team member on a Ruger, PSA, S&W, RRA, Etc., if given a choice.

Too many people and makers focus on bling (pic rails) rather than guts (properly staked gas key).
I agree with you on all this. What irks me right now are these skeletonized AR’s that are going for over 2k.
And users are reporting all kinds of issues with them.

I think you’d be surprised at how un-factory alot of AR rifles are in the military.

I also didn’t know Joe Dirt engineered anything in a barn.
