I have played around with digiscoping with my phone and a cheap scope. It worked okay, but the quality was less than stellar. Is anybody using a high quality scope and a dslr camera to take pics? Is the quality of the image anywhere near that of a large telephoto lens? I understand that the scope will have way more magnification, which is a consideration.

I have a 600mm lens but use my iPhone with a tines up adapter on my 20/60/80 Swarovski spotter on anything further than 200 yards. I tried the Swarovski APO adapter for my dlsr straight to my spotter but that’s just too much assembly/disassembley for me. Tines up adapter and vortex razor would be my suggestion if you don’t already have a setup.

Im running a kowa 884 with a da10 adapter to a sony a6400 with a sigma 30/1.4 and have been getting results ive been very happy with. Its never as seamless as a big lens but it saves me needing to swap the lens in the field and the only extra bit of gear to carry is the da10 adapter. The closest photo on the feeder was about 15’, and the building is just over 2.7 miles

Are Kowa and Swaro the only companies that have dedicated adapters for attaching a dslr/mirrorless cameras?
