Differences going from 85% to 75% mods

I noticed a slight increase, did not see a noticeable impact point difference until about 50 yards and out. I gained 6 FPS on the Chrono
Good to know. I just sighted in my 20, 30 and 40 yard pins. I haven't installed the sight tape yet. I'll wait and go off the new chrono #'s, if they are different.

I have found that going strictly off of Chrono numbers for a tape doesn't work for me. For example I run a MGB 3 pin, running a 279 tape, but the chrono numbers are actually 275-277

Not trying to stir any shit here but can you really tell that much of a difference in 2-4fps?

I have arrows that are 8 grains different and I cannot shoot the difference

Now what I have experienced and heard others experience the same is for example using Archer Advantage I have to play with the fps to get my tapes to line up. They never match what my bow speed is.

A 275 fps tape is much different than a 279 fps tape at 80 yards, so yes I can tell a difference. when shooting at 80 yards and having to dial to 85. I am just saying that I don't think the speed on the tape is perfect. make marks and match up the tapes, don't put on a tape that says 285 just because the chrono you used says 285 and expect it to hit spot on.

Yup I totally agree with you in that regard. I dont know how they make those tapes but I have to go way more than a few fps off with the archer advantage ones.

Getting off topic but I've never had the chrono work great getting past 60 on sight tape.

On Archers Advantage if using say my 5 pin I'll crank my dial all the way up and shoot my bottom pin until I'm hitting dead on at 20 yards. From there, I slowly keep moving back in yardage and the dial until I'm hitting 60 consistently with the same pin (the further the better of course). After that I'll measure the distance between my beginning point at 20 to the 60 point with some calipers. I'll then input those reference distances and inches into archers advantage. Usually spot on every time.

I can then take my tape and line up the 5 the pins to the respective tape marks I want.

I put the 75% mods on the Halon 32 today and wanted to update the thread with my impressions of the process and new feel:

- All the info given above on the mod swap was spot on. It was very easy to do. The 85's came off without the need to remove the draw stop screw, but I had to remove it on the 75s to get them to slide in.
- As per the draw length chart mathews puts out I'm a "C" mod in the 85s and a "D" in the 75s. Draw length feels the same. But when I get to full draw now with the 75s I noticed that the peep was not quite square...would that mean the draw length is slightly different?
-I see what y'all were talking about the valley. with the 75 mods the valley is very narrow. just like was shared above if I got lazy at full draw the bow would try to break forward
-I thought the draw itself was smoother with the 75s and the bow seems to go off quicker when i hit my release
-Holding weight itself didn't seem too terribly different
-I shot the same 14 field targets today as I did yesterday and shot a little bit better today with the 75 mods, hit more x's today
-I did not have to adjust the sight at all (pins and tape are both still right on)

I appreciate all the tips and discussion on this topic - I think I'm going to enjoy the 75 mods once I get used to them.
The main benefit with lower let off for any type of target shooting is it keeps the back engaging.
