Hey everyone,

I'm currently looking into the T3X Lite D-18 VSX from Cabela's (JRTXTV320). However, I'm a bit confused about the model differences.

I've been comparing it to the JRTXVW320 and TFTT3138A560973MB models on the Tikka website. The cabelas version isn't listed anywhere on the Tikka website. I also created this graphic as a form of my own "comparison":

Here's what I've noticed:

  • Barrel Length: The main difference seems to be the barrel length. The JRTXVW320 models have a shorter barrel, but I'm unsure if this is with or without the muzzle brake included.... Are all the 30.06 20" barrels and that extra 2.4 being reflected in the specs is with the muzzle break installed?
  • Camo Pattern and Cerakote: There are obvious differences in the camo pattern and cerakote color.
  • MSRP: The JRTXTV320 is $150 more expensive. Is that $150 just for licensing the Veil pattern?....
My Question:

Are there any other significant differences between these models, such as differences in quality of components or other features?

I'd appreciate any insights or clarification from anyone who has experience with these models.

Thanks in advance!

P.S I already emailed Tikka, but haven't heard back from them yet. Hoping someone with knowledge of both of these models can give me some insight before they (if they) respond.

Thank you

The Cabela's/Bass Pro D-18 is the same rifle as the Veil Wideland with a different color stock and cerakote. Other than that, they are exactly the same.

Thank you.

Sadly I an getting some conflicting information. I called Beretta USA and the customer service agent informed me that all new tikkas in '24 have 1:11 twist instead of the 1:10. He also said that the barrel is DEFINITELY not stainless on the cabelas version.

Kind of hoping he's blowing smoke or didn't know what he was talking about.

I would really like a stainless barrel and a 1:10 twist in case I want to load it up with something heavy for moose or black bear.

PLEASE tell me this Beretta CS agent didn't know what he was talking about. Ideally with something official to source so I can verify. Might just have to make the long drive to Cabelas to inspect the stamp. Should be able to tell material and twist from the stamp on the Tikka barrel, correct?

Do you have the VSX?

I have a Cabela's D-18 in 7RM. It is absolutely stainless action and barrel. There was a video on YouTube (done by Mountain Tactical I believe) where he stated that all of the cerakoted Tikkas were SS actions and barrels.

As for the twist, it is quick call to your nearest Bass Pro to ask them what twist is marked on the barrel.

If the cabelas D-18 is a copy of the roughtech then it’s blued not stainless. However if it’s cerakoted then that’s a huge plus vs the base roughtech

Whichever one you go with and you want 1-10 twist, make sure the barrel has 1-10 stamped on it. If not it’s probably a older 1-11 model.

it isn't. It is a copy of the Veil Wideland with a different camo pattern on the stock.
