My dad purchased that bow for a similar reason (he's just old and beat up). He's been shooting it hunting/3d league for 2 years and has no complaints so far. I've even be toying with the idea of picking one up and using it as a backpacking bow the things are so damn light!

I purchased the Diamond SB-1 Edge for the same reason - starting at low poundage to recover from spinal surgery. I found mine used on RS.

I had shoulder surgery and bought a Diamond Infinite Edge so I could start shooting at the lowest draw weight and work my way up. 4 years later I am still shooting that same bow and have had 1 dry fire but no damage no repairs. I have had the string replaced.
