Dialing to Preferred MPBR?

This has likely been discussed ad nauseam, but anyone use a ballistic chart to find the zero for a optimum MPBR and simply dial to that number from a 100 yard zero and leave it?

For example, I like 220 yard zero for my 6 ARC shooting 108 ELDMs. I currently have a 100 yard zero, but I can dial my turret 2.25 MOA and leave it when I go hunt. That will keep me in the vitals out to 275 yards. If I need to dial beyond that I’m good to go.

I do it with my compound bow. It sits at a 27 yard zero : +-3” from 0-30 yards. I can dial out to 80.

For whitetail it pretty much never moves. When I’m hunting in the mountains, I’ll range and dial.

I’ve always just flubbed this with a rifle in the past - 2” high at 100 and point and click from 0-200. Now that I shoot more and have better understanding of the gun, and ballistics. I can stretch it with a flatter shooting projectile

Yes, I use a 100yd zero and dial up in the field for a PBR. And just like above I do it with the slider on the bow.

I guess I go against the grain from Form and others. I get a good zero at 100 yards. I pick a day when wind and weather variables are as favorable as possible.

I then dial elevation for 200 yards and shoot a 10 shot group. If satisfied with the group, I set that as my zero range and set my zero stop and turret.
Don't know if it's right or wrong but it's my way. I never dial windage.

I feel this allows me to be good out to a decent PBR and if I need to dial, I start from zero and not .7 mils and then have to add 1.3 mils to get to 400 yards. Makes it simple for my mind.

I think thats how lots of people do it. Zero at 100, dial whatever solution to walk around with. Any solution past pb range you are still dialing the same solution as if you were at 0 (unless you’re blindfolded and trying to do it by clicks alone).
