Was this a true free range hunt? I have looked into San Jose and it looks like a good ranch, I have heard there are some high fence hunts come out of there though. What was your experience with the outfitter?

Thankfully Sonora Desert Sheep prices are fairly stable due to the ranching programs. Yes Full prices are moving up with inflation and respected outfits wanting to get more $, but there are other “cancellation” and last minute un- booked hunt options for un-used tags that season- that are still reasonable around $50k.

A bit of research and you can find those, the issue is reliability of the outfit, and size of available rams. And needing to go with short notice.

Just lucked out and inquired at the right time had a Left over tag, called in August hunted that January. They have a big area which includes part of Tiburon Island which is more $$$$$$. Beautiful place picture below looking west towards Baja California.
