Does anyone have one? I know a sat phone would be a better option, but unfourtunately cost is a factor.
I would like to get some reviews before dropping the cash.

This thing is great. I really like it. It can be used in standalone mode which is a nice feature I didn't know about along with sending 3 predetermined texts in standalone mode. I can see if you never use it and need to send SOS or text in standalone, it can get kinda confusing, I'm going to print a tiny cheat sheet and laminate it for keep with it so I don't forget what the 3 texts say and how to cancel SOS if I needed to. All in all, GREAT!

I used mine this year and it is great. I had someone sending me weather reports for the area I was in. Plus with it being paired with my cell phone can get text messages from my kids.
