Defiance ruckus vs impact precision 737/nbk

I got a half off defiance cert this year. Ruckus tactical ul is en route.

Defiance was kind of a pain to deal with. Their Salesforce was very unknowledgeable about their 1 product. Was a turn off.

Ive heard others have had issues as well.

Seems like they are coasting on their past prominence.

Once I get it im sure I'll enjoy it greatly. Not saying its not good. Some say they are more debris sensitive, others say the ruckus fixed that.

The Gucci builds right now are definitely the impacts and lone peaks. Seem to be the preferred route. And if it wasnt for the cert I would've gone that direction. Lots of impact prefits on the shelves around as well.

I have an Impact NBK short action with 1,000 rounds on the rifle. very smooth action and might be tough to beat. NBK does have a light version that just came out as well.

Impacts and Defiance on sale at red hawk rifles right now.

I'd lean impact primarily due to prefit availability and reputation (not first hand experience) for handling dust/debris better.

Being in manufacturing and MT being my home state, I have and have had a few defiances over the years. When Glen owned it without a question everything about defiance was absolutely excellent. I know when Bob Beck bought it a lot of my friends who dealt with defiance daily trended away from them because of the change up in CS and leadership. Also a few actions slipped through that shouldn't have. I know the few very limited and I mean limited QC hiccups were remedied, but more than anything how Defiance treated their dealers because of the internal change up hurt them. Also jacking action prices up $500-600 overnight didn't go over well. I believe the quality is still there but id have to ask my sources how the current actions have been.(PM me if you want.)
Personally I went away from them because once Glen was gone, I just didn't like how the CS applecart got upset. Plus I found Kelbly Nanooks to be what I really wanted in an action from a feature vs price standpoint. I will never sell my OG AnTi or OG Tenacity and have no complaints really other than I feel at $1500+the bolts should come nitrided. If I ever build another rifle I'll choose Kelbly.

I have heard nothing but positive things about impact and they have a massive following. I think you'd probably be more than happy with an impact. While I don't think you can probably go wrong with either, In todays market I wouldn't choose defiance, because like I said I found another action I like more.

Built rifles on both and will continue to build on both in the future the Ruckus with the ultralight cuts is very close in weight to a NBK both come with nitrite the Impact will save you a few hundred over the ruckus both a very smooth availability has been a challenge for Impact lately, defience has actions ready to go on their site Impact does at times also. Defience has more options to choose from if you order from them directly looking at 4 months to have one built. Impact is a very nice action and I try to keep a few in-stock for rifle builds between actions and barrels if your in a hurry take what you can get if you have time and are patient choose what options and the looks of the action you like and order it or have your smith order it for you
