1st its legal here to shoot from a boat as long as its not under mechanical power, and game is in knee deep or less water.
I drew a permit hunt on a piece that is roughly 3000 acres, late December hunt. It is pretty much an ox bow in the river. So i can cover alot of ground from the water. Ive hunted here several times and have shot a buck that was cruising along the river bank during the rut.
Buddy floated and duck hunted it last year and saw several bucks bedded up against River Bank.
Thinking about waiting for legal light or slightly after to push off and slowly float looking for deer on the banks and looking for any major places they cross the river as well.
Thinking by time of our hunt if the bucks are still on property they are going to be holding tight during daylight in the planted pines or river banks.
