Dedicated 6mm ARC AR can?

I will suggest the AB Suppressor A-10 5.56 can. It's $450, lightweight, built of steel, and is rated for 6mm ARC use. The owner told me recently that it was optimized for 14.5-inch 6mm ARCs.

I don't think it's the quietest suppressor, but if you're using it on an autoloader, the action noise will be loud anyways. As for low back pressure BS, just tweak the rifle if gas issues bother you. Start with heavier buffer, then adjustable gas block or carrier. Do not get a "low back pressure" can. All they are is less effective suppressors.

I've run quite a few cans to include scythe, omega 36M, cat noah and ultra 5 on my three 6 ARCs. They all do well with an adjustable gas block. Love my CAT NOAH ti hub (discontinued). Flow through is nice and the gun doesn't get near a dirty. Ridgeback Rodie 6j or For systems recce ti will be my next 6mm can.

Agree with this. It’s hard to beat that A-10 for weight, durability, and cost. Some dislike them because they resemble a black sex toy, but I have a Raptor and am man enough to be okay with putting it on my guns.

Is this on one gun or on several? Gas port size and barrel length also make a difference.
On any AR platform that I’ve used, in everything from personal to professional use. Ammo from 55gr FMJ to 77gr OTM. Several different suppressors. Barrel lengths from 7.5-20”. I’ve shot the platform in 233, 556, 223 wylde, 6.5 Grendel, 6 ARC, and 300BO.

I’ve shot rifles from Daniel defense, colt, H&K, Sig, ROC River, Stag arms, BCM, KAC, LaRue, Wilson Combat, Noveske, LMT and LWRC.

I don’t use adjustable gas blocks or anything but a carbine buffer tube and spring with an H3 buffer.

I realize it’s a real thing. I have been shooting/using an AR platform for 30 years now and haven’t had gas in my face from a suppressor since my first deployment. Since then it’s been a non issue.

Recently put together a 6arc and based on what I had read, I thought I would need/want a dedicated can for it as well. It’s an 18” Noveske upper and the lower has a JP SCS with an H2 buffer. No adjustable gas block (yet).

My US OG won’t fit with the Noveske handgaurd so I screwed a Banish 30 on for now. So far, zero issues cycling everything from 80gr ELDVTs to 108ELDMs with no noticeable gas to the face or anything else noteworthy. Based on that, I no longer plan to get a dedicated can for it. Just going to wait for the US triple 6 or whatever they’re calling it now to come out to use on this 6arc and my other small caliber rifles.

I'm similar, have run Nomads on my ARCs for a while, but started using lower back pressure cans on my ARs recently, and I'm sold. Even with AGBs, which I have on all my rifles, I prefer the lower backpressure for better function, lower gas to the face and cleaner action. My B&T RBS 762 works well on my ARCs, but my Noah hub Ti is excellent and smaller to boot. Unfortunately CAT discontinued all the Noahs, although there may still be some out there. Personally I'm planning on getting the Ridgeback Rhodie 6 when the TI version comes out in April, the SAW Tisha 5.56/6mm would probably also be a good option though.

Here's the Noah on my main hunting ARC after putting in some work this past fall, love that combo.

I enjoy shooting suppressed and training but if I'm huffing lead clouds I'll find an alternative. First cans I got about 5 yrs ago (monocore) I immediately noticed the gas coming back, stinging eyes, acrid taste, no go for me. Also hard cycling, which I could tame the bolt speed by simply adding buffer weight. still had the gas cloud coming back though, and the action running extra dirty so more maintenance.
I put on an adjustable gas black but I was always concerned about the reliability and decided to try the YHM suppressed (restricted gas port) block instead for 20$. Gas problem solved and back to a "0" or "1" buffer weight (A2). VLTOR is my home town team and I do like the A2 buffer system it's noticeably quieter and smoother IME.
The only real issue I've heard with the adjustable gas blocks is them getting carbon locked, and can't adjust, not actual failure to operate the gun. But I still feel better about reliability with a fixed one piece gas block.

I also run a HUXWRX can on AR10 and that performs as advertised with maybe 5% extra gas. plenty quiet for me training with ear plugs in anyways. They get a ton of shade for being loud and there seems to be better, quieter reduced gas options coming out every week now. I still like the hux can (7.62QD) I've got and it truly requires zero mods when added to the system.
I did a trade for a 6ARC last year and now I'm waiting on a Lazarus 6 to clear the 0$ stamp and see how it performs on the 6ARC before I mess with the gas system. there are so many options coming out now it's dizzying. Silencer Analytics on YT seems to be the top of the game on reviewing and comparing the newer cans as they appear. He's got 200 cans on his channel already and he's always testing the backpressure too.

This claim of less effective suppression just does not hold up to the new wave of 3d printed cans coming out recently. Echocore winning the TBAC summit, Stealth additive works, Ridgeback, Exigent etc etc. numerous cans out there nowadays with reduced BP and increased suppression compared to old school baffle tech.

JoeK,

I'm not saying low back pressure cans aren't impressive. I'm just saying they're not as effective as they could be, because the slower the gases exit the suppressor, the quieter it will be. Slower gases = lower pressure = less blast. This ain't complex.

What would be the quietest suppressor? One that disrupts and dissipates the gas so much that it exits at ambient pressure. No blast here.

What would the loudest suppressor be? A bare muzzle that does nothing to reduce the exit pressure. Full blast here.

If you're still following, where would you place flow-through suppressors between these two extremes?
