This is fully inspired by go4thegusto. This is the heads up decoy that I will be giving this a go this coming weekend. I'm planning on setting it laying down, getting about 50 yards "in front" of it, then popping it up if a buck comes into range. I have the bow mount so I may also try to stalk within a couple hundred yards with it on the bow, swap it onto the platform, move up another 50 yards, then raise it up to draw a buck within bow range while not worrying about him hanging up at 80 yards of the decoy.

After 2 unsuccessful stalks with the ultimate predator decoy on my bow I think I’ll be adding a stationary to the arsenal too. Depending on when you hunt them and which decoy your using (Buck or Doe) I currently have a buck and the buck I was going after wasn’t rutting so didn’t want to challenge or move in closer. I have noticed in higher elevations that those bucks are rutting so idk, I’m learning everything as this is my first season going after Antelope

I try to be the decoy when antelope hunting. Hunting big flat Country I’ve found it a better option to try to be an antelope and let them come to me. Killed a Booner a few years ago letting him come to me.

Whos used both kinds of decoys and what are your Pros and cons between the older hard decoys (Dutton or Commandalope) vs the newer cloth decoys?

I used a Dutton last season on a solo rut muzzleloader hunt in CO. I stalked this buck to within 150 yards in and when he saw the decoy, he charged in to 40 yards. Ready to try it again this year with a flintlock.
