Finally got my trail cams out and checked them yesterday. The first photo is a pretty impressive buck. I'd like to get a few more pictures of him just to see some more detail. The picture quality isn't great. Could be the same buck as the second photo.

I might be able to go this evening but I doubt it. Probably have to wait until next weekend. Most of the photos were after dark, but a few were during shooting hours.

It’s ridiculous that these guys are out drinking at almost 2 am. Don’t they know they will have company first thing in the morning?

Nice buck

Yeah it interesting for sure. In summer the bucks will show up morning, mid day and evening. The. It turns into only mid day or evening, then only evening and night time. Then around late October to early November they run around like idiots.

What's interesting is I can drive the ranch for several hours and not see a deer. Then there's 8 different bucks on the camera that night. Even walking and glassing difficult. If we get some rain I might be able to did some spot and stalk stuff. Maybe this weekend. ....

Well, did you turn anything up during shooting hours? My trail cams are full of bucks roaming around at 3:00am but I have only seen two little forkies during hunting hours. Hoping the new moon and a slight temperature drop will help tomorrow...

Hes still coming in primarily at night. But I had one of him at 0845 last week. Sitting there now waiting.

Its super difficult to hunt this spot. The pond is in a depression and the wind swirls around...

Ill check the camera in a bit and see.

Good luck. I finally turned up 3 nicebucks during shooting hours yesterday. I think the moon phase must of helped. Couldn’t get under 600 yards but I know where they bed and hopefully can figure out a route next week.

It will be interesting to see if this pattern holds through next week. I have never paid attention to moon phases and my sample size is too small to matter.
