December 2012 - Yuma Proving Grounds Success

I wanted to share a couple photos from my Grandpa Mike Cupell's 2012 Desert Bighorn hunt in the Yuma Proving Grounds in southern Arizona. He's been putting in for almost thirty years for sheep in Arizona, and finally got drawn. He spent a total of 17 days in the field during the season in December, and it paid huge dividends. This sheep scores 170+ by the AZG&F, which is at the top end of what this unit sustains.

Really nice ram. My understanding is that can be a hard unit to hunt. Looked like there were several decent rams which is great to see.
