Dead air ebrake sucks. Does little in recoil for added noise. If it's not a baffled brake, don't expect much.
 
I’ve shot the nomad LTi, the standard TiXC and the rxd30. These are all on 2x 30-06 and one 270.

The LTI is the quietest of the bunch. Not by much but it is quiter. The rxd30 and the tixc are similar, but I prefer the rxd30. Like someone else stated it’s a good all purpose can for bolt guns. It’s the can I’m planning on buying for myself. It’s about 7.5” long and weighs around 12oz. I find it to be a good inbetween for the TiXC and the LTi. The brake may or may not do anything beneficial but it is still really quiet considering it is ported on the end

I really like it, I got it in 300wm for elk out west. Its somewhere in the 10lb vicinity, I carried it around for 3 days in the mountains and it didnt seem too heavy for me. I do like the larger palm swell, and the trigger that came with it. I bought a 2 stage with a flat shoe and decided I like the trigger that came with it better, both are triggertech. I bought a bunch of different federal ammo to see what it liked and it shot everything well from the cheap powershok to the 200gr terminal ascent which shot well under moa. The fit and finish was very nice overall and the cycling the bolt is very smooth. I did have to add some shims to lengthen the lop.

Some Negatives
I do wish it locked the bolt on safe, I found that it would unlock while walking though the brush, it was just something I reached back checked periodically once I realized it. It doesn't seem like there is a whole lot of adjustment fore and aft on the scope mount. I have a Vortex Viper HD mounted on it that I bought before the rifle and I can't quite get it slid back far enough to just lay my head on the stock and get a full sight picture, I have to inch my head up a little bit to make it work. I talked to someone with an nx8 and they said the same thing, I'll probably by a nxs for it for next season, it has about 6" of mounting area. Im not sure if the short actions have the same issue. Due to the bolt sticking out on the 60* throw, it didnt fit in some of the atv gun cases we had on this year's hunt with out removing the bolt.

I did narrow the list down to the Bergara Crest² but then Seekins dropped the ph3, seemed like a no brainer for a little bit of extra money. I would buy it again and am thinking of buying one in a short action too.

TLDR: Overall its awesome, may need longish scope body for mounting on a long action, bolt does not lock on safe.
 
Appreciate this thread, I'm also looking at an rxd30ti vs the LTiXC after not getting one of my ear plugs in on my elk this over 3 weeks ago my ears are still ringing. Maybe it's time to move on from brakes and become civilized.

@swampy14 @probablymissed I also have a PH3 in 308. I agree on the bolt not locking. I lost a shell because of it. Then found myself constantly reaching back in paranoia. I like the forward and back but a 3 position safety similar to a Model 70 would be ideal. No scope issues with vx5 3-15.
 
@snowdog104 I’m going back and forth on a ph3. I like it but not the weight. I wish there’s was a spot between the ph3 and the element. Like a ph3 with a carbon stock.

When I was hunting I had it strapped across my back with the bolt facing in, I was regularly checking the bolt and squeezing it close. I didnt lose any rounds because of it but I have lost one before on a ruger m77.

I was looking at the Cat Jl and the Vent 1 cans, but I really liked that the rxd was a bit shorter. After doing some research it was the length is what won me over. I still may get one of the others sometime next year.

I checked out the specs between your scope and mine and the mounting area is almost identical but the vx5 has slightly more eye relief. Im curious to see short action has more mounting area for the rings. I measured mine, the rear area was 1 3/16 and the front area was about 2 3/32.

The rifle I was planning to buy was the Bergara B14² Crest before the ph3 was dropped. It weighs in 6.9 allegedly vs the 7.5 of the ph3. I think it would still have the same issue of not having the bolt lock up on safe.
