Dead Air E Brake

Does the Dead Air E Brake reduce recoil impulse time? I am currently building a 300wsm and came across Mr. Avery's "pug" thread. I noticed that he switched from a can to a muzzle brake due to lack of being able to call his own shots. I currently have a Nomad Ti in jail that was going to be dedicated to this rifle ( 22" barrel). There is also the option of the KeyMicro brake with the KeyoMo adapter. I don't have any experience with either so any information would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping the e brake will solve this issue otherwise I might as well go with a 24" barrel if I will wind up going with just a muzzle brake anyway. Thank you for your input.

No experience with the e-brake

I have a nomad-Ti and it’s awesome, I wouldn’t bother with the Keymicro and mount, just adds weight and complexity with no advantage.

Have e brake on nomad LTi. That setup in general is easy to shoot on a 8lb all in 7wsm. I haven’t tried without it though.

I ordered a nomad 30. Planning to use it on my 300 win mag. The gun is pretty heavy, over 10lbs.

I have one on the way to try out on my Nomad Ti, hoping it helps the recoil on my 7 mega. Seems like they're recommended if you don't mind the extra length and weight, from what I've read.

At this point I don’t think the weight and length is going to matter much. Keep Me posted if you like the e brake

I'm curious to hear as well! How much would you expect the e-brake to reduce on a 7mm PRC?

No experience without it but I do run it one multiple rifles. 22 creed, 6 creed, 6.5 Prc and 7 saum.

I have a Nomad and removed the KeyMo system because it serves no purpose on a hunting rifle vs a direct thread mount. With a direct thread mount, I get a lighter setup.

I have no experience with the E-brake b/c the Nomad knocks down recoil to good levels on my 270 and 280AI. They are babies to shoot.

In you position, I would try the rifle with the Nomad before ordering the E-Brake. If you feel you need it, you can always add it later.

I got my Nomad 30 with the e-brake. Shot it out of my 300 win mag. I think it kicks slightly more than just the muzzle break but not by much.

Overall, Nomad 30 with the e-brake makes shooting the 300 win mag much more enjoyable.

Did not try it without the e-brake.

I run the Nomad 30 ti with keymo and e brake. I like the keymo for switching between a bunch of different rifles. I've shot with and without the e brake. You notice a bit of a difference with the 300 win mag but when I have it on smaller calibers I usually don't have the e brake on there. Not worth the weight and length for lighter recoiling rifles.

I have the E-Brake on mine and while I do notice a bit of a reduction in recoil I personally think going to a longer can would be the better plan. For example while I do notice a bit of reduction with it on my Nomad Ti the Nomad L is both quieter and has less recoil while being only slightly longer.

For me personally I have determined the 2” difference (less with the e brake) in length favors the drastically better performance of the longer suppressor.

That is a good point. For the same profile you might as well take the LT and get better performance. I suppose it depends on the country you hunt. In Washington I like the idea of shorter overall package.

Mine took a while to mount because the included tool didn't work and I had to wait for DA to send me the correct one, which was out of stock for a while.

I will say that adding the brake to mine didn't make a huge difference, but I didn't get to shoot it with and without it in the same iteration (that cap was a pain in the ass to remove).

I've been tempted to try a new Thunderbeast braked can to see if it's better at reducing recoil.
