The reason l like the 3500 for most day hunts is the optics pockets down the sides. When not taking a tripod and spotter.i like the 2000. The 2000 has plenty of capacity the layout of the 3500 just seems handier.

The side pockets are a big sales point for me. If the 2000 had the big side pockets i would definitely get it. That being said I saw the seek outside peregrine and kind of liked it. Between the 3500 and the peregrine what is your all's advice?

Take a look at the Mystery Ranch Cabinet, it's a great day pack with good meat hauling capability, has a good frame and belt that stays where you need it when loaded down.

I have not tried a Seek Outside pack. I have one of their 8 man tipi set-ups and it's great quality. I don't think you'd go wrong either way. I do love my Exo frame I would say. The way that pack twists with my body is awesome going through the burns and other stuff I encounter out west. They advertise how their pack is rigid vertically and flexes horizontally and I love that about mine. It's like you aren't wearing a frame until you need to throw weight on it. It's a simple and effective design.

Last year I hiked in a couple miles through rough country to check for blood after shooting at a really nice muley right before dark the night before. I missed as it turned out, my partner ranged the wrong buck and I dialed a bit to much elevation. I thought I missed but still wanted to check for blood in the snow and be certain. On the hike out gaining lots of elevation in deep snow I put my 300 in one of the side pockets so I could use both trekking poles without worrying about keeping a sling on my shoulder. It worked great and made me like the deep side pockets even more. I agree if the 2000 had the big side pockets I'd likely use that bag more than I do.
