Dana Design Prototype,
One of a kind made approx. 1991.
ArcFlex size large frame, Terraplane lid. Bag has one main zipper, top loading, two lash panels, side and back webbing. Designed before the load shelf was a thing, when real men put bloody meat in pillow cases in the pack!

Dana Design ArcFlex Alpine, size small, circa mid-90s. Likely never used. Still as the initial card stapled to the side webbing.

Dana Design Big Sky day pack, size Large. Well used/abused and still works great. There was webbing on the main bag panel that connected near the bottom of the shovit pocket, this was cut off to allow scapula from bagged front quarters to settle to the bottom of the shovit pocket/main bag.

Dana Design Road Warrior duffel. Might be a prototype, but same as a production item. Eva foam padding on the longer sides and bottom and zippered end pockets. Also 'lined' of course to keep the foam in place.

London Bridge/Combat Medical Mojo bag. Really tough bag w/loop panels inside, MOLLE outside for organization.

Does the size small on the Alpine mean it has a shorter yolk height? Or is it just the waist belt that changes?

I've had an arcflex for years from this same vintage. Incredible packs.

The small has a shorter frame height, smaller belt, shorter/smaller shoulder pads and a shorter bag. I think the only things that were the same were the lid, shroud and bottom. We made XS - XL and was a pain keeping track of inventory for sure.

Glad you liked yours! When the side stays are pulled into the belt and the frame is snugged up to the top of the shoulder pads, it's like night and day. Great packs.

Wonder if I ever talked to you, sold Dana excellence for years in the 90’s out of Charbon’s in Athens, GA.
I’ve got a terraplane, astralplane, big sky, bomb, Bridger Fanny pack, and a really cool bison belt that’s black with the leaping fool on it.
Have a buddy with the leaping fool tattooed on his ankle.
If you’re still in touch with Dana, send him positive thoughts please, learned and sold a lot from his knowledge!

Leaping fool tat on the ankle is commitment! Not in contact much anymore, once or twice a year at most and will let him know when I catch up next.
I bet we talked, I remember Charbon's and scrambling to fill orders, and you have quite a collection. TSA, or whatever it was back then, were often non-plussed by the "Bomb" name embroidered on the lid, we heard a few funny stories!

I ended up dating a girl for about a year after a coworker couldn’t fit her in a pack, she asked for help after she couldn’t get her fit. I came up and got her fit to a terraplane that she wore throughout Alaska. Was a funny story as I was too shy to ask for her number, my co worker pointed out she wrote a check and gave me her number off of it. Was a bunch of fun

I still have my Terraplane that Dana himself fitted for me when visiting the old campus location of Whole Earth Provisions in Austin, Texas in the 90's.

Great guy and I was shocked at how big a guy he was!

Replaced the foam pad in lumbar region a couple of times but still running strong.
