Have searched around and found very little on these. They appear to be a very compelling package:
  • CRF action
  • Adjustable trigger down to pretty light
  • Threaded barrel
  • 5 rd flush fit mag
  • Micro, short, long action options
  • Steel and aluminum action options
  • Integral pic rail
  • Pinch bolt style barrel to action joint, may enable a switch barrel type quick barrel swap
  • Chambered in appealing cartridges like 6CM
  • Interesting variants, like heavy range barrels and stocks, also collapsible small format chassis with some AR compatibility
  • LOWER prices than a Tikka WITH all these features
What am I missing? These seem like a slam dunk! Can somebody fill me in?

I have one in .243 to test out from a distributor here in Australia. Our fallow rut is about to ramp up so I'll shoot a few bucks with it and then do some accuracy testing with it. I'll post some of my findings in here if I remember but they'll get published in an Aussie mag within a few months.

So far it seems like a fantastic package and the price is VERY good.

CZ600 Trail in 223. Neat idea, handy size, collapsible stock sucks, lightweight, 2 MOA accuracy is about the best I can get.

I've tried lots of factory loads, and a few handloads in the 70-77 gr weight range

Don’t have one but from afar and armchairing it. Unless you like the stock and would be happy with the stock as is there probably won’t be any aftermarket support for it. Year or so ago they had a recall because their barrel clamp bolts were loosening up on their own and have now made it so only “factory authorized” places can do barrel swaps. CZ never sold other barrels and the barrels contain the locking lugs not the action so again probably won’t be any aftermarket support there. It’s kinda a one and done rifle. But if it tickles your fancy it seems quite a few of them are shooters.
This is excellent background info. I had gleaned that the stock inlet was proprietary and these didn't have much aftermarket traction, but all the stocks looked OK and I am not above grinding and drilling on a stock to make it fit me.

The barrel thing is a bummer though. It seemed like their solution to the barrel screw issue was just red loctite? But yeah if they aren't selling component barrels or releasing the prints for smiths to cut to then it's academic.

I bought one on a screaming deal to use as a test platform for some scopes. It has been pretty impressive so far. As the others have said, its probably not a good choice if you plan to do any modifications (stock, barrel, etc.) but if you like the factory configuration and don't buy a barrel burning cartridge it's probably a solid option.

I did go through the trouble of stiffening the stock forend with epoxy and an arrow shaft and bonded the action to the stock for additional rigidity.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

The videos below are more focused on the scope evaluations but the rifle was obviously a key part of that process.

My rifle came "post recall" with red loctite on all of the barrel screws.

Can you comment on the action quality ie feel, binding, feeding? Curious how this implementation of CRF works. Trigger? Mags? Reliability? Accuracy?

I could see this as a lower cost option for someone who isn't interested in modding out a gun. Seems like a much better option than say a Ruger American or Howa for the price.

I haven't dug into the mechanics of the CRF action to compare with other iterations so I'll leave that for others to comment on.

Overall, I have been impressed with the package for the price. I haven't had any reliability issues to date but I haven't run a tremendous amount of round through it.
The trigger is serviceable but not spectacular. The action feels smooth without binding or issues.
The magazine seems fine so far. I only have 1 magazine so hopefully it holds up long term.
Accuracy has been fair honestly based on the scope testing. 10 round groups of ~1.5 to 2 MOA.

The integrated pic rail was a big selling point for this particular project knowing that I was going to be dropping it a lot.

I have been please with the 600’s. They need a new stock, barreled action is solid. Accuracy has been great with the Alpha in 6.5 CM and American in .308. My buddy has a Trail in .223, it shoots ok…I think they claim 2 MOA on the Trail and it did better.

Action is not as smooth as a Tikka, but not bad after getting some rounds through it. Haven’t had issues with binding. Magazine is ok, they could have made them longer for COAL.

For the recall, all they did was red loctite the bolts that clamp the barrel in.

Trigger is a breeze to adjust and I don’t seem to notice it when I’m shooting, which is good.

I have one in 6mm creedmoor. Unless you slam the bolt with a lot of force it will jam. I don't know why but you can't pussyfoot around chambering a round
I posted in another thread that I have the 600 Range in 6CM and it doesn't feed well with longer bullets. Accuracy and trigger are great.
My son has the 600 Alpha in 308 and it shoots lights out.
He adjusted the trigger down and it's better than my Tikkas.
Great platform, I would absolutely buy another.
CZ has a lot of great offerings.

CZ pistols are my absolute favorite, and lots of the guys I shoot NRL22 with use the CZ457. I would expect high quality from this 600. If they sold component barrels this would be an absolute game changer rifle...

I bought one on sale from eurooptic in 223. I liked the fast twist and the stats of the rifle but never held one. The stock felt goofy the safety felt goofy and I could never get it to shoot better than 2 moa with multiple bullets and powders. I sold it cheap and bought a Howa mini action that I like a lot more.
