Where is a good starting point load wise? Shooting Thor 300 grain and 777 with musket cap. Any input appreciated.

Thanks100-150 grains by volume
Thanks. That's my usual approach.150 grains isn't a good starting point. I would start at 90 grains by volume and jump up slowly from there.
Yeah, anything over 90 grains as a starting point is asking for a headache. I did that once and it took me a long ass time to figure out the sweet spot for my setup was only about 70 grains. I climbed the ladder from 90 to 120+ a few times before my caveman brain realized I needed to go lower. That was with a heavier bullet though 460 No Excuse, I believe.Where is a good starting point load wise? Shooting Thor 300 grain and 777 with musket cap. Any input appreciated.

Keep us updated on your results. I've thought about upgrading to the MR-X. I'm in SW Idaho as well.
