Cutting a scope down…

I cut down the extra sunshade length on a Gen 1 3-15 a few months ago. Used a hacksaw, cleaned up with a file, and then flattened and smoothed with some sandpaper laid on a flat surface. No pictures of the cut, but you can tell it looks like a normal scope length, not the extra long SWFA.

I'm considering chopping down a windage turret on my SWFA. Does anyone have a video showing how they did this or instructions?
