I cut my string today like a complete dumb*** while removing a peep.

I’m not sure I can think of anything more frustrating!! Now I get to beat myself up for two weeks waiting on a new one.

That is all. Feel free to pile on!!

Two weeks? Order a string from Threadz today and it ships 2 day air the next day. Hands down best string makers I know of.

It's a mistake a lot of us have made. Usually only once! Worst part about it is you and your bow are in timeout for two weeks.

Yeah nothing to pile on about I think most of us have done it before I know I have. JBK bowstrings best out there

Been there..I hope you only do it one time.

I thought I would add something constructive to this thread as I've done this a couple of times, actually. The safest and best way that I have found to remove the serving around a peep is a seam ripper. It's mostly used for sewing but works well in this case, too.

I’ve done it once, felt like the biggest idiot in the world. Same as Clancy, I always have 2 sets for multiple reasons…. And a backup bow

I’ve done it but thankfully on an old set when I learning to do everything, I know my day is coming on a new set though

I knew I wouldn’t be the only one. But it doesn’t take away the sting. Haha

I haven’t tried different manufacturers, and I’m not sure I’m good enough to know the difference on most. I have ordered a few sets from Catfish Custom Bowstrings over the years with no issues, so I reached out to him. He was nice enough to make me just the string and save me quite a bit as opposed to ordering a whole new set (current set only has ~500 arrow through it). So shoutout to him for helping me mitigate the cost of such a silly mistake!

Catfish are great strings as well if Jbk ever stops catfish is what I will use..

I have a set of dental picks I use to get under the serving and then cut the serving with the pick under it.

always cut away from the string, find a sharp blade with a sharp point and get under where it is tied in and cut up. Depending on how it is tied in, should be able then to just unwind the serving without more cutting.

Stuff happens but I highly recommend shooting without a peep. Give it an honest go and thank me later.
