customized Kimber rifles

Good to hear. It seems that many are cutting back to 16", which seems a solid choice for balance with a suppressor, but I am reluctant to give up that much velocity, especially if I want to use a 150 or 162 grain ELD-X.
16" would have worked for me but I was new to the suppressor game when I got mine cut so 18" seemed like a good balance. I get ~2700 fps with my 165g AB hand load so losing ~40-50fps likely wouldn't have changed anything. Next time I cut one, I might go 16" depending on the cartridge. I have a 6.5 creed cut to 18" and my 140g ELDm load gets like 2550, Im not sure I'd want to go lower than that, maybe there's a powder that could buy me a bit of velocity or perhaps it would make more sense to shoot a lighter bullet to make up for it.

I'd happily shoot the 130g TMK out of a 16" 6.5cm if I got ok velocity out of it, the 124g hammer hunter is also a screaming fast bullet.

Asking for a friend…

Mountain Ascent 280AI that chambers a round painfully rough. I mean, I can make it work but sometimes it seems like jamming a cat into a burlap bag would be easier.

Is there a remedy for the rough feeding issue or is this as good as it gets ???

Just got my Montana 7mm08 back from warranty service. They fixed the light primer strike issue.

Thinking I might chop/thread it. Is there any consensus what length would be best for the 708?

If it matters, my other rifle is a 7saum, 18” and suppressed with a Nomad Ti XC.

So covering some bases for short range vs long range, and some how I’m hooked on 7mm for now.
