So I am a firm believer in practicing with your broadheads to make sure they are hitting where you want. I am also a believer in Rage broadheads because of my experiences and the experiences of my friends. Unfortunately, the Rage practice heads for the Hypodermics are bogus IMO. The old version is lighter than the actual broadhead (which are actually a bit on the heavy side on my scale, averaging about 103 grains), and the new solid version can't have the same aerodynamic properties. I started practicing with the actual broadheads but it was annoying because of having to turn/replace the collars after every shot.

My solution was to use sacrifice a couple broadheads and glue the blades in the "closed" position with Goat-Tuff Impact rubberized glue. Worked great, although they do eat up a Block target pretty fast.

Back in the day, we Super Glued Vortex head shut for practice. I've got some that are still glued tight 25 years later.
