Newtosavage
WKR
This rifle started out as an attempt to build a lightweight 7mm-08 with a walnut stock to give to my son for Christmas. The action is a standard 4.4" Model 11 Savage action with the bottom bolt release. I upgraded the bolt with the new jeweled bolt body. The stock I ordered factory from Savage - it's a walnut lightweight hunter stock with the cutouts to reduce weight. The stock is beautiful and without a scratch. The barrel is a 20" 7mm-08 barrel I pulled from a brand new Savage Axis youth rifle that I purchased just for the barrel.
Scope is a Leupold VX-2 2-7x33 in low Talley rings.
As shown, the rifle weighs 7 lbs. 1 oz.
I probably have $900 in the rifle and scope when it's all said and done. The stock alone was almost $300 from Savage. It was a fun build, and shoots 120 Barnes TTSX to about 3/4" at 3040 fps. over 8208 XBR powder. It also shoots 139 Hornady SST's and Interbonds right at an inch.
I enjoyed the project, and had planned to give it to my son for Christmas, but he decided he wants a stainless Tikka .308, so this one is up for grabs.
I'll take $550 for the rifle and scope together, or $425 just for the rifle, shipped to your FFL
Since my son has his heart set on a stainless Tikka in .308, I would be willing to trade for one. Thanks.
