I just got this back from my gunsmith. When I started collecting parts for this build I was planning on this being my one and done hunting rifle. While this was being built I happened to make a deal with Dallas Lane to have him build me a full custom. Anyhow, this is now up for sale because I need to re-coup funds from buying thermal optics.

Specs:
-Kimber 84L Montana (action trued by smith)
-21” Carbon Six Featherweight contour (1:8)
-Muzzle diameter is .750, threaded 5/8-24
-Weight is 5lbs 12oz bare

Options to the buyer:
1. I can do load development with the Nosler 165 ABLR and provide 350+ bullets (all the same lot #) as well as 100 pieces of fully prepped and neck turned Remington brass.

2. I can Cerakote the rifle to buyers preferences (within reason, I’m not a good enough artist to airbrush a mural on the stock)

Asking $3250 $2950 $2800 $2700 for just the rifle including shipping to your FFL in the lower 48.

Price for Load development and reloading supplies as well as Cerakote can be negotiated with a serious buyer.

What can I say, I like being different. The 270 has become one of my favorites with the 165 ABLR at 2900-3000 fps. I’m afraid to start load workup on this one because I might not want to sell it.

What type of speed with a 21” barrel would you anticipate? I struggle to get 2800fps with 150’s in my tikka… I am intrigued by your setup.

OP, did you open up the factory stock? If so, how’d you do that? I have a 6.5 CM 84M I’d love to rebarrel to a carbon 22-250.
Sent you a PM

Shot a few groups today. This is 165 ABLR at 2800fps at 300 yards. Not a hot load at all.

The forend was opened up with a ball mill. This cuts through the carbon/kevlar shell and exposes the foam. Parts of the carbon are actually removed and placed lower in the foam. Then the carbon pieces were glassed back into place under the new barrel creating a new larger barrel channel. The barrel is not free floated, it is full length bedded. This is the 3rd one I’ve had done like this and they all shoot great.

Shoots really good out to 400 yards with the 165 ABLR and Magpro. Might even get tighter with different seating depths and more rounds down the barrel. For now I’m leaving it alone for a new owner.
