Started out with a savage axis action to do a budget build. Chucked the action up in the lathe and removed the front section that housed the partial key/recoil lug and trued it up. It now uses a standard full recoil lug like a 110. Has a precision lug and barrel nut from NSS and custom X-Caliber 280ai match grade stainless barrel. 22" plus the custom blended muzzle brake. Kind of a magnum profile on the barrel. If memory serves it is a 1:9 twist with 5r rifling. With the few loads I tried it was consistently under 1moa. Maybe 100 rounds fired. Boyds classic laminate stock with custom stippling bedded to action. Bolt lift kit that smoothed out bolt lift a lot and a trigger job with over travel stop screw installed. Trigger breaks clean and crisp with almost no creep or over travel at 2.5lbs, perfect hunting trigger. Includes 20 moa rail and I have some 30mm rings I can include as well. This is no ordinary axis. Barrel alone was $450, well over $1k invested. I have Peterson brass and Redding dies that I can sell as well. $550 firm shipped private party to your FFL.
