Looking to jump into a new pair of boots. Unfortunately, I don’t live anywhere near a place that deals Zamberlan boots. Kind of stuck between the Idaho GTX and the Zamberlan 1040 Lynx. Does anyone have experience with either of these two models? How’s the width on these boots? I’m in that place where my foot is slightly wider than the average person but note wide enough to buy a wide boot because it would be too
Much extra space and a lot of slip. Thanks in advance!

I have the lynx, as well as the cougar and leopard.... it’s a good boot, of the three boots the lynx works best for me. Fairly stiff, breaks in easy very comfortable. I am 10 wide on my right foot a 10 reg on my left ...I got the wide on all these models and they fit perfect.
The only Crispi I have right now are the Dakotas and they are fairly new, I went 10wide and they fit very well, tight in the heel but enough room for me in my right toe box that gives me issues.

This was really helpful, thank you for the response. Between the lynx and cougar, which do you prefer? I like my boots a little taller, about 8-10 Inches. I think I will try the wide initially then exchange it for a regular if it’s too much.

I also have wider feet. Tried on a few pairs of Zamberlan's locally (can't remember the specific models) and they were all too narrow. I ended up in a pair of Crispi Wyomings for late spring, summer and early fall and a pair of the Wild Rock's for late fall, winter and early spring. Feet and boots are so subjective but in my experience, Crispi's felt wider than the Zamberlan's

Definitely true, boots are strictly preference, and everyone’s generic response if go with what feels best which, I totally understand but why I wanted some opinions from guys who have put miles on in boots. But just gettin a feel for people’s opinions. Seems like your Crispi’s worked well for you, so I definitely appreciate you input. Thank you!

The lynx works better for me. The cougar is a little to high and like most boots that high rub a spot on my right shin. Isnt really a boot issue me as it will happen with most any high boot. just me i guess.

The cougar is like 3.5 or 4 out of 5 in stiffness , good ankle support, very stable but not overly stiff. plenty of padding on the tongue. I also found that they all three of these models have decent foot beds...i didnt replace them.
if you like a taller boot it maybe a good fit for you.
