You use crocs then? The crispi’s, 24oz per boot. Too heavy for my bird hunting. I got the email and had hope until I saw the weight.

Have a closet full of hunting boots and if I am not hunting in cactus or snow the Salomon Quest 4D are the first I reach for.Solomon’s or La Sportivas

What boot do you use for bird hunting? I’m looking for a light weight boot to do a lot walking in.The crispi’s, 24oz per boot. Too heavy for my bird hunting. I got the email and had hope until I saw the weight.

How have the Kestrels been? Mine took about 20 miles to break in, but then they were good. Unfortunately they ended up leaking like a sieve in less than a year. Schnees replaced them with Timberlines… I wish I had gotten more Kestrels. I felt the Kestrels ran narrow so I got the Wides and that worked good. Also, the Kestrels were heavier than you would think they would be. This year Im going to try some Salomon Quest Elements..21.5 oz per boot in size 11.So I ordered these boots and will have 3 "early season" hikers to compare. I’ll post it in here. Currently im using the schnees Beartooth 2s. I have the kestrel and Jim greens in my possession and should have new Crispis by Tuesday. View attachment 889644
Kestrel are OK. They are still more boot than I initially wanted. I probably have 30+ miles on them and they are still stiff. They did wet out on me but I was in hip high grass that was soaked from dew for hours while dog training. I think the toe box is wider than normal which I did like. I did standard width. I behave beartooths and I wanted the kestrel to be more like a solomon hiker. Its more like a mtn boot than it is a hiker. How have the Kestrels been? I do. I do a lot of bird hunting. I'm breaking in a pair of Schnee Kestrel's right now. The boots I wear elk hunting are different than the boots I wear bird hunting. How much marketing is going on here? Does anybody actually buy a separate pair of hiking boots for upland bird hunting?
