Crispi Lapponia GTX Boot Wax?

I just bought a pair of these, and unlike my other Crispis, they do not have a rubber rand but what I think is a coated leather rand. I am ready to apply some Kennetrek Boot Wax and I'm not sure if I should coat the black coated leather or not? I am thinking yes but want to be sure. I called Crispi but no one answers their phone and the voicemail is full.

I coated mine with the Crispi Cream. It went on with a little discoloration on the coated rand but it pretty much rubbed right in with a little effort. I can't see why it would hurt that part. The only thing I didn't coat was the polyester foam padded stuff.
