Is anyone here who has had good luck with crispi boots weighing more than 180 lbs? Just body weight, not the additional pack and gear weight. This seems to be one of the deciding factors with boot durability. They scale up for size but not increased weight.

I was 250 last season and packed out multiple critters in mine and chukar hunted 2 seasons without issues.

FWIW, I’m over 200lbs and have 350+ miles on my crossovers (6 years old). They’re still in decent shape, but most likely getting a new pair this year.

Did you take care of them? If you parked them in a box 11.5 months out of the year without treating the leather before putting them in storage, the leather and thread was going to fail prematurely.

I have cleaned and babied these boots more than any other pair ive ever owed. All my gear is stored in my shop which is heated in the winter. This has to be a defect in my opinion. But it is what it is. Ill wear them as long as i can i guess

185 lbs. Four seasons on the Nevada's. Boots are solid, tread is worn though, but to be expected.

Going on five years on my Nevada and no issues. If you like Cabelas, you'll love the RedHead.

I had a pair of elk trackers i used and abused for 4 years, the sole was worn right down to nothing and the stitching finally let go. Last fall i found boots at 50% off and i bought 8 pairs. Theyre insulated with 800grams thinsulate. Packed an elk out at -40F last January and as long as i was moving feet were warm.

Schnees is the king of CS though, wouldn't say that's industry standard. For what it's worth, their warranty also says 1 year, but I've had them go above and beyond several times.

They don't ship outside USA which is a PITA.

That’s a concerning thought. I just got some Guides for the upcoming year and am planning on using them until the brakes fall off but I also weigh about 230. I’lil have to report back as I put in more miles breaking them in.

I’m at 215 without pack and rifle because I love carbs. I have over 300 miles on my Nevadas and 1.5 seasons plus recreational rucking on my altitudes (my personal favorite). The Nevadas are water logged most of the winter and get air dried out after each trip and re-oiled. The only issue I had was some slight pull up on the Rand by the toe after I tripped on a bolder. I sealed it up with shoe goo and they have been fine since.

I would suspect that the glue would break down faster in hot climates or if kept by a fire. May not be the case here but have seen a few soles start to fall off or melt after a nap by a fire. Sucks to see expensive boots go quick.

My oldest son wore Wild Rock GTXs opening week of MT. The leather was tore up, the leather didn’t repel rain/snow, the rand was beginning to delaminate and they looked 10 years. Customer service was absolute shit. They recommended we buy their boot grease, pay to ship the boots in for repair, and pay for the repairs. They were worn 8 days!! Get Scarpas.

Im 260 and have 5 pairs, different models, and they all have held up for me

I’m 220 and love my sets of crispis. One pair of Valdres from 2018 and a pair of Nevadas from 2022. Only thing I could complain about is their soles are kinda soft so they wear quicker. My Valdres are on their 3rd sole and Nevadas are on their 2nd sole, both boots are great. If I know I’ll be in steeper country or with a heavier load, the Nevadas get the call. Valdres are super comfortable and can handle a good loading too, Nevadas just do it a touch better

I tend to get a similar toe separation, similar to pictures earlier in the thread. I Just use some Shoe Goo and wrap the boot toe in Saran Wrap to hold it tight while it cures

Boots are like any other product......some are built well, some are not. I'm 6'6" 220 for reference and wear size 13's.

I have a pair of Zamberlans that I bought in 2013. The tread is mostly worn down and the boots in need of resoling. But these boots have averaged ~200 mountain hunting miles every year since 2013. Everything about these boots has been perfect. Hard to imagine but the rands are still fully sealed down all the way around, and not a single stitch has come apart.

Then I have a pair of Crispi's that I bought in 2012 that hadn't even had 1/10th of the miles or use on them, and those soles completely disintegrated into a fine black powder a few years ago. One of the weirdest things I've ever seen. Took them into a local shoe repair shop and the guy put new Vibram soles on them for $80. They've been fine now for the past few years. I mainly use these boots on wet days.

I'd just take them to a local shoe guy and have him stitch them up.

My 4 yr old Nevadas and 3 yr old Guides have been superb. Many miles, hunts and daily wear.
My Briksdal synthetics got replaced after the 1st trip. Leaked almost immediately and the Rand started separating in 3 places.
Crispi sent me a new pair.

I have two pairs of Colorados and a pair of Wild Rocks. One of the Colorados shrunk an absurd amount over hunting season. Most boots will shrink I find if they’re getting wet and exposed to sun and the elements, but these ones were comedic (the toe box shrunk up like a raisin). It seemed like something was off with the material, but Crispi just advised that such shrinkage was normal. I usually buy my boots a half size large and that way it’s not an issue when they shrink. These feel a full size and a half constricted.

I’ve owned and used a number of great boots from numerous companies but never had anything shrink like this before, and especially from fairly mediocre use over a single season.

The Crispis generally fit my feet absolutely wonderfully, but I’m not sure I’ll buy another pair.
