Barely two years ago I bought a pair of Briksdale Pro SF GTX.
They fit great but upon returning from bear camp I noticed the stitching coming apart on the right heel??
I have less than 40 days afield with these boots, is this normal? I expected a lot more for the cost.
I have a pair of Cabelas hunting boots that cost 70% less, Ive been abusing for 3 years from hunting to logging and they are still in one piece!
I contacted the retailer and there's nothing they can do. I wont be buying these again.

Did you contact crispi? I bet they help you out.

I’ve got a pair that I’ve been using for 4-5 years now that is still holding up well. Probably my favorite boots.
I emailed them today, hopefully they stand behind their product.

I have a pair of Briksdal SF going on 6 yrs of AK abuse. They are worn and I have another pair ready to go but my old ones are broken in so well and keep going….

I've got a 5 year old pair, hundreds of miles, zero complaints, still in great shape.

On a side note, I really don't understand the whole posting, complaining, but haven't even talked to anyone one yet to see how they're going to respond?

Have 3-4 years on my Crispis, holding up great as well.

I agree ^^. I would have tried to resolve the issue first by contacting them before posting.

Whining to the whole world IN CAPS before talking to the company about some failed stitching and giving them the opportunity to stand behind their product... yet another perfect example of the whole new world.

OP has already wisely decided these are not the boots for him, clearly the best path is to take his own advice, never buy another pair and stick with Cabelas. Cabelas stuff NEVER has any issues, EVER.

And I'll keep the three pair of Crispi boots I have just to help the OP by saving others from potentially buying them.

My experience with crispi warranty is they will just want to repair. I had a pair briksdal sf with 16 days on them. Two days break in and then 14 days on a remote hunt. On day 4 one boot had the sole start coming off. Did a duct tape repair to keep them going. Made it slippery as shit side hilling on wet grass and rocks. I called warranty and they just wanted me to ship them to a repair place. Which I might add would be expensive as it was out of country. I asked can't you replace them as their are basically new. Nope. He said if u buy a new truck and it gets a flat tire, u just fix the tire. I said this is basically a motor blow as I'm trying to leave your lot after u soaked me. Too bad that's all we offering. I said thx. Got them repaired locally and sold at a loss. I would steer clear of this brand. This is my experience.

Well you missed the part where i contacted the retailer. Didnt put all the details but they contacted the crispi rep and they wont do anything. Ive now contacted crispi directly but waiting for an answer. After talking to a few people my expectations are really low. Im sure cabelas boots also have their issues but the last two pairs i bout were $120, if they fall apart after a season im ok with that. What im not ok with is $700 that barely lasted a month in the field.

They aren't going to do anything for you. Their warranty is 1 year. I've had good luck with them within that time frame. Hard to go much past that as a boot manufacture, can't say I blame them. Have any pictures of the damage?

I sent the pictures to the retailer for the rep. Its easy to see the wear is minimal. If they were to ask me to send them the n for repair there would be not point. By the time i ship it there and back i might as well buy different boots instead, shipping and custom fees are expensive. I just domt know how you would fix that without going through the goretex.

So the damage is on the inside? Do you have insoles in them other than the original?

Dang, schnees swapped my beartooths out for timberlines for free after using the beartooths for months and having fit issues with them. Even sent em back with bear blood on them.
Schnees is the king of CS though, wouldn't say that's industry standard. For what it's worth, their warranty also says 1 year, but I've had them go above and beyond several times.

Did you take care of them? If you parked them in a box 11.5 months out of the year without treating the leather before putting them in storage, the leather and thread was going to fail prematurely.

One point to consider-- Cabelas does not make boots.
Not sure who makes theirs and private labels them, but it could well be Crispi for all we know.
That would be kinda amusing

Is anyone here who has had good luck with crispi boots weighing more than 180 lbs? Just body weight, not the additional pack and gear weight. This seems to be one of the deciding factors with boot durability. They scale up for size but not increased weight.
