So my son purchased a set of these this summer to break in for our Oregon hunt this fall. He has put over 120 miles on the boots and his feet are still hurting after a few miles in. I think its more him being flat footed than the boot specifically but he doesn't quite agree. I ended up ordering Sheep Feet insoles in hopes that they will help. I noticed there is not much to the factory insoles so I am hoping this helps or he will be looking to a different brand. I run Kennetreks with zero issues so far. Anyone else see issues with these?

I don't have Colorados, but I did have a pair of Wyomings that did the same to my feet. Sold them and have been sticking with the Salomon 4D's.

I have to use a gel cushioned Insole or else my feet get sore after a few miles as well. Took my years and several boot brands to figure that out. I'm sure the sheep feet will make all the difference

Have worn the Colorados the last 3 yrs with no issues like you describe, but I used the L&S footbed in them from the start.

bought a pair about a month ago they have been super comfortable for me so far. Hunted in them 7 days (not hard hunting) but I have used them doing a lot of duck blind prep trying to break them in. They are broke in now and I still wore them working last night digging because they are way more comfortable and provide more ankle support than my pull-on work boots.

I did start to feel a little hot spot on one short hike but I tightened laces up a bit and it went away.

Sounds like either the boot is not a good match, he needs to change his lacing technique, or he needs a different insole. There’s no real break in period for these boots.

I use and love these boots, but I needed to swap the insole to get the best fit for me personally.

I had the same problem year one with my Colorados with stock insoles. The following year i went to REI and tried every insole with my boots until i found the right one. 300+ miles later and my feet never get sore in these boots.
