I've had the insulated version for a few years but I'm looking for something more breathable for the early season. They fit well for my feet in the forefoot and have a great heel cup. Most of the other Crispi's I've worn are a little too wide in the forefoot and don't have the same heel retention. I've thought about getting the Colorado's since they fit close but they seem like they'll be sloppy after a few hikes.

Those of you that have your foot in the briksdale, what boot fits similar for early season, stiff and breathable?

I find the Hanwag Alpine Wide boots fit really similar. I use a Friction 2 GTX for colder weather and more ankle stability. The Makra Combi is a great early season boot with the same last, just lighter and a bit lower height. Hanwag quality seems to be much higher than my 2 pairs of Briksdal SF’s I burned through.

Scarpa Zodiac or Zodiac plus are great boots and sometimes cheaper in cost. I have a lot of Crispi boots for comfort and general hiking about but for technical terrain I take the scarpa's every time.
