Crispi boots worth the money?

I’ve owned quite a few pairs of boots from different companies. A few months ago I got a pair of crispi altitudes, and I think they are the most comfortable boots I’ve had. I have a slightly wider than average foot and the width is no problem for me. We’ll see how long they hold up, but if it’s at least a year I’ll just get another pair.

Great boots but definitely try them on and wear around the house for a few days to decide, I found the kenetrek fit me better from the models I tested.
Even then I got a good hotspot this elk season. Carry some mole skin!

Unfortunately is it the standard even at such high prices. The only reason I don't really complain is because I wait for a good sell on boots. I got the Wyomings for $190 last year brand new from Midway USA. But yeah at msrp it's pretty crazy how trash the insoles are. But going back to my point and like others have stated, no one really puts in a good insole. They're all an afterthought.

I doubt it’s an afterthought. Most likely well thought out. They know that most buyers will also add their own favorite insoles so why waste the money on an insole that will just be replaced immediately after purchase?

I have crispi lapponias. First pair and hard to find in Canada. Fit like they were custom made. I put a lot of miles on bird hunting. For my use I rate them excellent.

What part of those insoles make you feel like they are a well thought part of the boot? Lol.

What shoe company in general do you know that makes amazing insoles that match the quality of the shoe? Do some work? Sure some are OK. But no one makes the insole a well thought out part of the entire design of the shoe.

I hear you. My only issue is they are an extremely thin strip of felt. Any insole you purchase will be at least twice the thickness if not more. So if you buy a pair of boots with a good fit, once you add an insole they may be too tight (what happened to me). If I had known that going in, it would have not been that bad. But when you have an almost brand new ~$400 pair of boots that are too tight with comfortable insoles and and extremely uncomfortable with the stock insoles you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Unfortunately, those stock insoles feel fine in store and walking over easy terrain. 2 miles in on the trail is when you first notice it (2 miles too late to return them)
Oh man, it sucks that they didn't feel comfortable after adding a thicker insole. I've never looked into it but I'm sure there has to be a quality insole that is thin. Perhaps not the same comfort as a thicker one, but enough to make the boot work just fine.

With black Friday coming up possibly gonna but some crispis. Are they worth the expensive price tag for the ones that have them?
My husband loves his Crispis, they're water proof they hold great through long hikes. His only complaint is he wishes they had harder ankle support, but they dont smell after hiking for a week. I wear Danners and for me they're the best ankle support I've ever had in boots. My Danners aren't water proof though.

I’ve got the Crispi Guide insulated and hated them. I mean I went and bought another pair of boots I disliked them so much. All my buddies were wearing Crispis and loved them.
I decided to give them another shot and just suffered through the dislike and now, they are the only boots I wear. I prefer to wear my insulated ones shed hunting in June, vs another brand. Long story short they just took a really long time to break in.

I have the lapponia v1’s and they are pretty solid. I’m in need of a new pair as they are getting thin on tread, but I’ve used them for some years now. Still don’t leak a drop but I’m not constantly walking through creeks. Probably will pick up the V3’s if they ever go on discount again.

Dad has the v2’s and loves them.

Hunting buddy showed up with kenetreks a few bow seasons ago and put a hole in them after a week. Probably just dumb luck. Next season he showed up with two different pairs of Crispis and has been using them ever since.

We all wore Danners prior to these when Danners used to be good.

Every foot is different so if you can try on as many models as you can that would be your best bet.

Mr cobbler in grand junction does mail in resoling on crispi’s for $125 and puts a good vibram sole of your choosing on them. If you love them it might be worth calling them about.
