Creedmoor for Brown Bear Hunt

So with all the comments about a 6.5 creedmoor etc being adequate for all North American game, how many of you are packing a creedmoor or smaller on a Kodiak or AK peninsula brown bear hunt?

Many of the people who scoff at killing a brown bear with anything less than a .375 H&H have no issue flinging arrows at big game like deer, black bear, or elk with a vastly inferior implement. It's like there's a disconnect in their brain. I don't understand it.

Personally, I wouldn't take a 6.5 CM on a Kodiak bear hunt, but I won't judge anyone who does.

I'd probably use a .22 Creedmoor.

No doubt in my mind. But I would rather go with the more vastly inferior implements.

No guide is going to be allowing that… No resident I know would purposely under gun themselves on a dedicated coastal brown bear hunt… Are these even real questions from bear hunters or just folks day dreaming that’ll never actually be in that position? Same for the mysterious keyboard experts that claim they’d use a 223 cal rifle when they live thousands of miles from the nearest brown bear. If you really live that life you don’t ask for internet opinions you just bring the whatever the adequate gun you’re comfortable with is

I just see quite a few comments about 6.5 cm type calibers good for everything in North America and wonder how many would actually take a 6.5cm or smaller on a brown bear hunt.

I'd like to hear the conversation of someone trying to convince their guide that they're bringing a 6cm.

The amount muscle and bone on a big bear is impressive.

When I was looking at these hunts it didn't even occur to me that 6.5 PRC would be faux pas, but it was pretty much a non sequitur.

I'm not interested in training with a 300 win mag or using 200 copper solids which seems to be the cliche minimum that gets kicked around.

Planning to bring 300 Fury with 195gr TMK or 200 Bergers and thinking that will keep everyone happy.

My conclusion is dont use too big of a caliber in too light of a gun with a monumetal bullet because its harder to shoot.
