Cranberry River area WVa. bear hunting.

Anyone hunt around the Cranberry River area for Black Bear? If so any suggestions on where to go.

Never hunted them there but have seen a few everytime I have been in the WA. Be aware you will run into dog hunters. Hell last spring when I was in there had couple cruise by my campsite on evening. I would bike in 6 or 8 miles with camp gear...leave the bikes on the road on head north into the WA.

Its a good area, honestly you cant go wrong anywhere around there either on national forest etc. don't think that you have to go into a wilderness area to kill a bear here.

True. I actually like the National Forest on the next mountain drainage to the North of the Cranberry Wilderness. Where you live ain't no slouch either!!
