These shelters really are the way to go for late season hunts. I've done it without but when the days get short and COLD it sure is nice to be able to go back to a nice warm shelter.

The Kifaruvision as I called it changes everything about a tent. I have the Sawtooth with a medium box and sitting there feeding the stove all warm and dry lit by the glow of the stove is really nice. The only problem is that when the stove goes cold and the cold come rushing back it's kind of a rude awakening. One minute it's all cozy and the next it's just another cold tent.

Had the same buck I missed come in last night but he stopped and turned around at 50 yards! Dammit! Had a half dozen does come through.

Were going to give it today then were packing up camp and moving to another unit to hunt muleys for the last two days. We obviously hit the rut dates here wrong and its been real slow. Can't stand sitting in a tree any longer!

Good luck Craig. Hows the Tipi holding up? Any adverse weather since you have been out? Im curious how my Stove Jack Hole cut is holding up and if its leaking at all. It looked good when I did it but I havent had it out and tested it in a good rain storm since cutting the hole.

Tipi is doing great! No weather changes just cold.

The hole should be good. The kifaru stove pipe fit snug and I can't imagine it would leak.

Craig,

What is the thing that holds your Binos to the Tripod there? It almost looks like a wrap type deal. Ive been after something like this cause Im afraid to pull the cap off my Nikon Monarch Binos to do the screw on type.

Its a swaro universal mount. Its pretty heavy and bulky but my only option till I get them tapped for a stud.

Thanks Craig. Going to check into that. Im in same boat. Im not sure if my Nikon Monarchs have the threads under the cap or not and I was to chicken to try and pull it off to see.

Saw 6 bucks tonight and 40 or so does. They are rutting hard here. Saw them fighting and chasing does hard!! One buck had his whole antler broke off on one side. Came close to getting a shot off on a skinny 4 point.

Should have been here the whole time! Hindsight is always 20/29 though!
