CPW Director Jeff Davis resigns

Should I take this to be the main org I should likely be giving to for this kind of thing - protecting CO hunting rights?
Absolutely. Dan provides consistent updates on what is going on in Colorado with wildlife management. His podcast and IG are great ways to stay informed. They will need every bit of resources they can muster to hold the line through the last year of the Polis administration. They are throwing everything at us- purging CPW and the commission of any hunting advocates through illegal terminations and appointments, citizen petitions to the commission, ballot initiatives, and general assembly legislation.

There are a ton of great organizations out there (I am a life member of many!) but CRWM stands out because I can see my money put into action. When I attend CPW Commission meetings I see CRWM there working. When I attend and testify in General Assembly committee hearings at the capitol, I see the CRWM lobbyists right there next to me testifying and engaging with legislators. They are at CPW Sportsmen’s Caucus and Legislative Sportsmen’s Representative Caucus leading the way. It’s nice to see your money put to work in real time. Meaningful, real tangible action.

SCI works very closely with CRWM. SCI helps CRWM with fundraising. It will take the whole hunting community working together (all the orgs) to fend off the attacks from the anti-hunting activists and Polis administration.
Very cool. For these raffles, is %100 of the revenue going to CRWM or is there some sort of split between CRWM and SCI? Just curious.

Update- The saga continues. Quick roll-up

Who can forget how this all began? Gov’s office and DNR said Davis “stepped down”. Only after media inquiries did the truth come out, he was being terminated and chose to resign in lieu of. A glimpse into the lies and malfeasance of the Polis-Reis-Gibbs administration.

An interesting clip from the November CPW commission meeting in the most recent CRWM-Through the Gates Podcast. Commissioner Jess Beaulieu tries to bully the commission and CPW to take on the fur ban petition at the JAN commission meeting. A complete violation of established policy and process while completely undermining the furbearer and beaver working groups. Beaulieu is a noted anti-hunting activist who was fraudulently appointed and has continually violated commission policy, a complete embarrassment. Davis and commissioner Robinson both pushed back on Beaulieu’s request as a complete affront to established policy and procedure, clearly favoring anti-hunting/trapping activists.

Davis and Robinson are gone now. Coincidence? You cross Lord Polis-Reis and their hand-selected activists pals and you are shown the door.

I didn’t know Murphy Robinson was gone already?! I know he wasn’t probably a super avid hunter but I worked with him professionally and I really liked him and thought he was a generally solid guy… ugh so frustrating. We have to clean CPW house no matter who wins the governorship… need to chimp out and get a whole new commission

I’m sure folks are aware but Davis is now Deputy WY G&F director.
Which absolutely wild to me… your telling me Wyoming couldn’t find a better #2? Although if he has a backbone would be hilarious if he does some crazy wolf depredation programs in southern wyo just to put a thumb in ole polis’ eye

You can shoot wolves in southern WY. They’re treated like coyotes and no license required. WY has already shot quite a few of the CO released wolves. CO ask for the collars but WY told them to pound sand.
