Like the others posters said. The legs are too short. Coyote.

Once you see a wolf in person there is no mistaking one for a coyote. A wolf is almost scary huge.

Kinda similar to trying to grow horns on a doe when glassing. When you see a buck you usually instantly know. Lol.

I have seen some very large full pelt coyotes. Still not close to wolf.

Bad pics make can make identifying anything difficult. Think someone mentioned Bigfoot earlier. Haha

My rule of thumb is: if you have to ask, it's a coyote. The differences between a wolf and a coyote are unmistakable. VW compared to a Mack truck stark. Especially when you see how they move on the landscape. Wolves are impressive.

It doesn't look like end of summer in your pic........and that's probably about the only time a wolf pup is going to be similar in size to a full grown coyote.
