Cow elk hunt OTC

Are there any late cow elk hunts that are over the counter anywhere? Could be Montana, Colorado or similar. Looking to get a couple old guys out for possibly their last trip out west.

None that I know off. You can draw cow elk fairly easy in some western states with a bit of research and possibly a point or 2 though

There's several cow tags that can be drawn with zero points, start your research on the various states F&G websites, all the information is out there waiting for you.

Some units have B List cow tags.
You can have 2 B List tags

If you do your research, there are cow tags in WY that 100% odds, but you do need to enter the draw for them. They do have a leftover sale this summer, get on their email list. And these tags go through 12/31.

Montana has some unlimited cow that you could get.

Colorado easy to draw, if you miss the draw there are left over tags later in the year

Great idea getting the guys out for one last trip! Montana and Colorado offer late cow elk hunts with OTC tags in certain units. Wyoming and New Mexico might have options too. Check the regs each year for updates on available units

Wyoming had left over cow tags that are late season. These go on sale in July. My unit typically has well over 300 tags available (as there is a quite a bit of private).

Yes, C Tag, to be precise, which is practically OTC. Near Denver. But the terrain may be tough if the old age correlates to physical limitations.

Just about. Huntable SWA and S.P. is part of the tag, but it's a sliver.
