Yep. Paid $626 last week for a non-resident OTC either sex tag. I'm sure they'll go up again next year.

God Bless.

Different subject, but not sure how Colorado works with other country's hunting safety cards etc. Or if you guys even have such a thing. But I'd probably make some phone calls first just to make sure you can get a tag when you get here.

2nd this one, found out the hard way you need to have a 'HARD COPY' of a hunters certificate to purchase your license from whomever you buy it from.

A lot of units also offer a list B option to shoot a cow as well, for an additional 450(?)$.

I'll be doing that this year in Colorado which hopefully will allow me to fill my freezer at any time shooting a cow then focusing on a bull.

Yeah I have a game license and Australian gun license but I'm also doing on of those online hunter safety courses. No animals that you are allowed to hunt in Australia are native so you are allowed to shoot as many as you want as often as you want, all year round.

I don't need to shoot a cow as well I can't take any of the meat back to Australia anyways. i was thinking i could donate it to a homeless shelter or something like that? the only thing I'm allowed to bring back is the cape and the antlers? Any other suggestions for what to do with the meat? I know some states you get fined for just shooting it at leaving the meat behind.

You are definitely required to harvest the meat on most game in all states. Exceptions for fur bearers , carnivores , pests. You can donate or give the meat away but you must get it out in good condition or it's wanton waste.

Unless you found one that I haven't been able to find, all hunters safety courses require an in person field day where you shoot, so I'd still call so hopefully there is a way around it.

Oklahoma does not require a field day.

Yes a hard copy is required, unless you present it in person at a CDOW office and they can validate it. I still carry mine as I never seem to be close to an office.

Minnesota does not require a "field day" for the Bowhunter Safety course. I use this certificate for the hunter safety certificate requirement in Colorado and anywhere else that requires one. I'll add that this is only good for archery hunting in those states.

OK says you must be a resident to take the online course. Alabama is the same. Those are the only 2 that I have found that don't require a field day or follow up class/test.

Ooops. You are correct. Forgot that part. My son just took the OK course, but Ive had mine since 1979 so didn't think about that. BTW...still have my original card in a scrapbook. Got a dup a couple of years ago that I carry around in CO now.
