Hi all,

I just picked up a pair of used crispi Nevada legends 9.5 which is what I wear in all my other footwear but not sure if they are too small or I am not leaving them correctly. They are my first mountain type boot so not sure what to look for and how much room there should be from my toe to the front of the boot. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Dan

1.5cm, a little more than 1/2” is what found to be ideal. You don’t want your toes to touch walking down a steep incline.

After lacing up kick your toe firmly on the ground, if they easily hit the front of the boot then they are too small or too loose. If you feel like you have them tight and your toe hits then they are too small. Tapping your toe on the ground simulated going down a steep hill and your foot sliding forward causing toe contact. Some boots are worse than others when it comes to holding your foot still. Also, make sure when your trying boots on they are being tried on with the thickest socks you plan on hunting in. If they are snug in a light cotton sock they will be too small in a heavy wool sock. Distance is too hard to measure because most people's feet are shaped slightly differently than the front of a boot, while your big toe may be 1/2" away from the front, your pinky toe maybe 1/8" away depending on the boot.
